Meeting: May 6^th, 2004 & Pizza Party

Junior Session presented by Larry Hamler.

Catherine summarized the minutes of the last meeting (April) and gave a brief financial report.

 

 

Old Business

 

Spring Show

Larry: There was good traffic at the Show until about 3 p.m.  Several visitors had traveled over 100 miles to attend. Two free half-year subscriptions for Numismatic News magazine were drawn:  Pete Wollum of Eau Claire, and MaryAnn Hanson of New Richmond.

Two new Club members joined at the show:  Jerry Grade, Emil Langel  -  Welcome!

 

Analysis of the entry forms for the Show drawings:  There were 74 individual forms (when the multiple entries were discarded).  Some people marked several advertising sources on their forms.  The total checkmarks obtained for each type of advertising are as follows:

10 entries were from Club Members, 12 forms had nothing marked for advertising, 8 forms had multiple marks for advertising.

 

Cabinet

Larry:  The Club really needs a storage cabinet.  If someone could find one, perhaps at a thrift sale, the club would reimburse.

John D: spoke with janitor before meeting. He said he’d have his sister look for one.

 

New Business:

 

Larry:  Any ideas for next December’s Chirstmas Party?  Not too happy with the food at Connell’s 2 last year.

Leonard: Suggests Pizza del Rey.

Larry:  Everyone should come to the September meeting with their ideas for a venue.

 

Doug:  New $50 bill coming out in late Sept/early Oct.

Larry:  State Quarters – this is the first year they issued silver proof set for the State Quarters

Doug:  Look out in the fall for the second in the set of new nickels.

 

Meeting adjourned at 7:57 pm  for the Pizza Party and resumed at 8:27.

 

Charly: We should put the monthly itinerary up on the website.

Kelly:  Volunteered to present the topic for October Education session – Ancient coins.

 

 

 

Quiz:

Larry produced a quiz on State Quarters.  The winner was Charly Koehler.
