Meeting started at 7:35 p.m.

Catherine summarized the minutes of the last meeting (October) and gave a brief financial report. 

Current balance $464.70

Mike Hannan rejoined the club, after an absence, for remainder of year - $3.00 membership

Club has paid NOW Membership $5.00

 

Pre-meeting:

Roy received an e-mail from Jesse James asking him to speak to a Pack of Cub Scouts (27 scouts & parents) about coin collecting.  They met last Monday and Roy said it was a lot of fun.  The Pack presented him with a nice framed certificate, also!

 

Old Business

 

December meeting & Holiday Party

Larry: The party at Sweetwater’s restaurant on Dec 2, will require advance reservations.  The following people gave confirmation that they would be able to attend:

Bob (2),  Leonard (1),  John D (1), Wayne (1), Roy (4: 3 adults/1 child), Kelly (1), John T (1), Charly (2), Doug (1), Mike (1), Larry (2), Catherine (3:  2 adults, 1 child)

Any one else who wishes to attend, please contact Larry or Catherine to give numbers of reservations required.  We will collect dinner money at the party on arrival ($16 adults, $8 children), as the restaurant would like us to pay with one check.  Refund of fees paid this year will be deducted from your dinner total.

We will be having an auction at the party.  Bring up to 5 items to auction, if you wish. 

 

Summer Picnic

It was decided to hold a summer picnic on a Sunday in late July (17, 24 or 31st).  We could book a pavilion at the Rod & Gun Club at Half Moon Lake.  Would have to get keys from the Parks & Rec office to open the gate.

 

NOW Membership

Catherine got reply back from NOW, and we have paid the $5.00 membership fee.

 

New Business:

 

Spring Show

Roy will be bourse chairman for this show.  We will use the expanded room and have 22 tables available for sale.     

 

Winter Show

Charly:  We should re-examine having a winter show again.

Larry: We would need to close up at 3:00 pm

 

Ken Mahalko

We just heard today that Ken had open-heart surgery over the weekend.  We wish him a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back at Club Meetings in the near future.  All the members at the meeting signed a get-well card to express our best wishes.

 

Election of New Officers

This will take place at the business meeting at the Holiday Party on Dec. 2.

 

Coin Samples for Display

Doug has a bag of large-scale samples of coins which can be useful for the Junior Sessions.  These are on loan to the club, and will be kept in the cabinet.

Catherine to send John T a list of all new members so he can make name tags.
